Our Story: Kevin’s Start In Data Recovery

For my entire life, I have been an entrepreneur. In 1995, I was running a successful cleaning business and my hard drive crashed. Immediately my business was on hold: no cash coming in and unable to run my schedule, my customer database gone. What did I do? I panicked. Just like everyone else who this happens to. 

Long story short, I got my data back. The result was that I found the pain of data recovery hurts. I also found that data recovery is expensive. It did not take me long before I began exploring what is involved with data recovery and building it into a viable business.

What I found was that data recovery was a local business, with most local services centering on software recovery. The service I needed was provided by a national company, and the service provided was difficult. After researching techniques, equipment, and providers, I educated myself and opened shop. 

Penetrating my local market was not as difficult as gathering business from around the nation. After some thought, I purchased numerous domain names related to search terms persons were using to find data recovery service. From this point on, my business grew exponentially to what is today. We have over 40 locations and are able to service Canada and the United States. 

I am often asked about my motivation behind selling my business locations. Selling the businesses that I have around the country is a two-fold goal: to increase my own cash flow and to capture the local data recovery markets by setting entrepreneurs up in a business that is viable and inexpensive so they can penetrate the market.
